Israeli Military Prepares For Additional Hostages

In a statement posted on X, the Israeli military said, “The [Israeli military] is prepared to receive additional hostages who are expected to be transferred to the Red Cross later,” signalling that the operation will continue in stages until all captives are released.🟡 According to information received, the Red Cross is on its way to a meeting point in northern Gaza where several hostages will be transferred into their custody.

Hamas Publishes List Of Palestinian Prisoners

On Monday, Hamas published a list of over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners who are slated for release under the ceasefire agreement. This announcement comes alongside a separate list of 20 living Israeli hostages that Hamas has agreed to release, according to reports by the Associated Press.

In exchange for the remaining Israeli captives still held in Gaza, about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners are set to be released. Among them, 1,700 are from Gaza, while 250 are security detainees or serving life or long sentences. The planned releases are further divided geographically: 135 prisoners will be deported to Gaza or sent abroad, 100 will be transferred to the occupied West Bank, and 15 will be released in occupied East Jerusalem.

Hamas Response

Hamas’ military wing, the Izz al-Qassam Brigades, issued a statement highlighting that the resistance has consistently sought to halt what it described as Israel’s “war of extermination,” but alleged that Israel’s actions and “narrow calculations” had thwarted these efforts.
