As the relations between India and Canada are gaining momentum following the ouster of Justin Trudeau, Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice on Wednesday called for a “siege” on the Indian consulate in Canada’s Vancouver. The terrorist organisation has urged the Indian-Canadians to defer their scheduled visit on Thursday, September 18.
In a statement released by the terror outfit, it threatened the Indian consulates in Canada and accused them of running a spy network in the country. They alleged the consulate officials are involved in targeting Khalistan supporters. “Two years ago — 18 September 2023 — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told Parliament that the Indian agents’ role was under investigation in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar,” read the statement.
“Two years on, Indian Consulates continue to run a spy network and surveillance targeting Khalistan Referendum campaigners,” it added.

The terrorist organisation, which India banned six years ago, has released a poster showing the newly appointed Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Patnaik with a target symbol on his face. Also, it demanded accountability for alleged New Delhi’s role in espionage and the threat to the Khalistani supporters on Canadian soil.
Canadian Intel Agency Confirms Khalistani Extremists Operating On Its Soil
This came a month after Canada's top intelligence agency -- the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) -- officially made a public disclosure for the first time that Khalistani extremists continue to use Canadian soil as a base for promoting, fundraising and planning acts of violence primarily targeting India.
The agency's latest report categorically states: "Khalistani extremists continue to use Canada as a base for the promotion, fundraising or planning of violence primarily in India."
This revelation, part of CSIS's latest annual report, has reignited concerns about foreign interference and extremist activity within Canada, particularly in the context of its sensitive diplomatic relationship with India. Since several years India has been raising concerns over Khalistani extremists operating from Canadian soil, but Canada had largely turned a blind eye towards this issue.
