A senior commander of Pakistan-based terror organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), died in mysterious circumstances at the gate of a mosque in Pakistan's Islamabad.

The terrorist has been identified as Qari Saeed alias Abdul Aziz. He allegedly ate food at an unfamiliar restaurant before arriving at the Quba Mosque to offer prayers. At the gate of the mosque, he suddenly collapsed and died. The cause of his death was not immediately clear.

It is worth mentioning that Qari Saeed headed the South Punjab unit of LeT's Shoaba-e-Warasa-e-Shuhada department, responsible for assisting the families of those terrorists killed by security forces during encounters in Jammu and Kashmir.

A purported CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced online showing Qari Saeed arriving at the mosque with a bag to offer prayers. He hands over the bag to an associate and performs ablution before the prayers.

Qari then takes the bag and takes the stairs to the main hall of the mosque. As he sits at the gate to remove his slippers, he suddenly collapses. People nearby rush to pick him up. They administer CPR to him.

The purported video can not be independently verified by The Daily Jagran. Qari was reportedly taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Qari had been an associate of Hafiz Saeed since 1990 and was involved in the recruitment of terrorists until 2017. After 2017, he was assigned the duty to provide monthly pensions to the families of south Punjab terrorists (Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan, etc) killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

His sudden death adds one more name to the list of mysterious deaths of terrorists in Pakistan. Recently, a top Lashkar operative, Rizwan Hanif, claimed that "unknown men" have killed around 30 of its members within Pakistan.
