One of Russian President Vladimir Putin's fancy cars, an Aurus limousine, blew up and caught fire on a street near Moscow on Saturday. According to a report by EuroWeeklyNews, the expensive car, worth £2,75,000, belongs to Putin's official fleet. However, an official word from the Kremlin is awaited. As per the report, the fire started in the engine and spread inside the vehicle. People working at nearby restaurants and bars rushed out to help before firefighters got there.

Thick black smoke poured from the front of the wrecked car as shocked people watched. Another video showed damage to the back of the car too. As of now, no one knows who was in the car or what caused the explosion, however, reports claimed no one inside got hurt.

Putin loves these Russian-made cars and even gave one to North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un. The Aurus Senat, retro-styled after the Soviet-era ZIL limousine, is the official Russian presidential car and Putin rode in one to his most recent Kremlin inauguration ceremony in May.

Putin's assassination bid

Lately, he has been super worried about someone trying to kill him. A few days ago, his guards were seen searching soldiers one by one in Murmansk, checking for weapons or bombs before Putin visited a memorial. They even took bullets out of the soldiers' guns and blocked them, amid reports that Putin's own team might turn against him.

During his trip to Murmansk, Putin climbed onto a nuclear submarine called Arkhangelsk and bragged about destroying Ukraine, saying he’d "finish them off." Last year, a former bodyguard who left Russia said Putin doesn’t even trust his security team-- he makes them run his washing machine because he’s so afraid of being attacked.

This week, there were more signs of Putin’s fears. His guards were spotted checking sewers and trash bins for bombs near a Moscow spot where he was giving a speech. Someone close to Putin’s team said Russia’s security has gotten stricter than ever before because of the war with Ukraine, which many people don't support.
