Nepal Flights Cancelled:  An official stated on Friday that owing to the worsening weather, Nepal's Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) suspended all domestic flights throughout the nation till Saturday morning. The announcement comes after the red alert issued by Nepal's weather forecasting office on Thursday, alerting the nation to potential natural calamities and severe rains.

There is a four-day alert in place for severe weather, including thunderstorms and heavy rains, in 56 out of the 77 districts of Nepal.

In reaction to the red alert, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA) has also taken action, asking people to refrain from long-distance travel unless absolutely essential and prohibiting vehicle operations at night for two days.

The Bay of Bengal's water vapour and the area's low pressure system are intensifying the current monsoon, according to the forecasting division. The entire nation is predicted to be affected by the monsoon conditions, which might bring mild to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and perhaps storms to the Terai area.

Additionally, the NDRRMA sent out warnings to locals in high-risk locations, especially those that were close to rivers or prone to landslides. The agency has advised residents in areas vulnerable to disasters to exercise care and remain alert. Farmers have been warned not to harvest crops at this time and to store them in high-lying areas to prevent damage from probable floods, especially in the Terai and Madhesh regions.

Volunteers and security personnel are on standby in case search and rescue activities become necessary. Officials warned that major industries including agriculture, health, tourism, and transportation might be negatively impacted by rising river levels and possible flooding.
