PM Modi In Australia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the Indian diaspora in Melbourne during his three-day visit to Australia. He highlighted India's growing global stature, economic progress, technological achievements and defence capabilities. Emphasising that India is moving rapidly towards becoming a developed nation, PM Modi reaffirmed the government's vision of making the country one of the world's top three economies.

PM Modi On Operation Sindoor

Highlighting India's defence capabilities, PM Modi said the world had witnessed the strength and credibility of India's indigenous defence platforms during Operation Sindoor, a coordinated precision strike and counter-terrorism operation launched by the Indian Armed Forces in response to the April 22, 2025 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. He added that the strikes on terrorist hideouts sent a strong message across the world and made every Indian proud.

“The world is witnessing the capability and credibility of India's defence platforms. You must have seen a demonstration of this during 'Operation Sindoor'. The explosions were taking place at terrorist hideouts, but their echoes were heard across the entire world. Did this massive strike on terror hideouts fill you with pride, or not?” PM Modi said.

'Make in India' And India's Manufacturing Growth

PM Modi further said the 'Make in India' initiative has become a global brand over the past 12 years. He noted that Indian-made mobile phones, electronics, automobiles and pharmaceutical products are now reaching markets across the world, reflecting the country's growing manufacturing strength. He also highlighted India's technological and infrastructure achievements.

PM Modi said the country has become the world's second-largest 5G market and is rapidly developing Made in India 6G technology. He also mentioned the rapid expansion of urban transport, saying metro rail services now operate in more than two dozen cities, with over 12.5 million passengers using them every day.

PM Modi Highlights India's Growth Vision

PM Modi said India is determined to become one of the world's top three economies at the earliest. "We aspire to become one of the world's top three economies as soon as possible, driven by the motto Grow more, achieve more,” said PM Modi. He added that India is preparing to launch the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission and is working towards establishing its own space station.He further stressed that India of the 21st century is driven by ambition and constant progress.

“The India of the 21st century is working towards the goal of becoming a developed nation. When one dream is realised, a new one is born. It used to be said that one lamp lights a thousand others; today, I say that one dream gives birth to another, thousands of dreams emerge. This is an India that believes in 'Grow More, Achieve More.' We are a nation of 1.4 billion people, brimming with aspirations,” PM Modi said.
