Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Paris on Monday for the start of his two-nation tour, which will also take him to the United States. Soon after arriving, he received a warm welcome on Monday with a hug from French President Emanuel Macron, followed by a dinner ahead of co-chairing the AI Summit in Paris.

Later in the evening, Prime Minister Modi attended a welcome dinner where he was greeted by President Macron with a hug. The two leaders shared a moment of camaraderie, ahead of their upcoming talks. The Prime Minister also met US Vice President JD Vance, who is in Paris for the summit as well. His visit begins with a significant focus on the AI Action Summit, where he will co-chair discussions alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit, which aims to bring together world leaders and tech executives, will focus on shaping the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and promoting innovation, security, and ethical development.

Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian diaspora, who showed their enthusiasm despite the chilly weather. He expressed gratitude for their support, saying, "A memorable welcome in Paris! The cold weather didn’t deter the Indian community from showing their affection this evening. Grateful to our diaspora and proud of them for their accomplishments."

During his three-day stay, PM Modi will co-chair the AI summit with President Macron and hold bilateral discussions on strengthening the India-France strategic partnership. One of the highlights of his visit will be his participation in the India-France CEO's Forum. The Prime Minister is also set to discuss the 2047 Horizon Roadmap, a framework for long-term cooperation between the two nations.

On Wednesday, Modi and Macron will travel to Marseille to visit the Mazargues War Cemetery, where they will pay tribute to Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during World War I. The leaders will also inaugurate India’s first Consulate in Marseille.

This marks Modi's sixth visit to France, underscoring the growing ties between the two countries. The Prime Minister's visit aims to deepen bilateral relations and further enhance India’s global role.
