Conservative activist Laura Loomer has sparked widespread controversy after launching a racially charged attack on FBI Director Kash Patel over his recent official visit to Qatar, accusing him of aligning with foreign security institutions and making inflammatory comments about his Indian heritage.
In a series of posts on social media platform X, Loomer criticised Patel for engaging with Qatar’s Ministry of Interior during a trip to Doha, where he signed new bilateral security and intelligence-sharing agreements. Her language quickly drew sharp backlash after she referenced Patel’s ethnicity while condemning the Gulf nation’s labour practices.
“You are an Indian. Do you know the Qataris make Indians like you slaves under Kafala? They build their buildings with Indian slave labour,” Loomer wrote, in remarks that were widely condemned as racist and dehumanising. Loomer further accused Patel of ignoring alleged migrant labour abuses during his visit, suggesting he failed to confront Qatari officials on workers’ rights. “Did you tell the Qataris to stop enslaving your people and funding terrorists? This is just so shameful… I advocated for you and now you’re in Qatar. It’s just such a let down,” she added.

Security Pacts With Qatar In Spotlight
Her tirade forms part of a broader narrative in which Loomer has recently turned against figures previously supported by Trump-aligned conservatives. Once a strong supporter of the Trump administration, Loomer has increasingly criticised its policy directions, particularly on Middle East diplomacy and security cooperation.
The latest attack came after Patel signed memoranda of understanding with Qatari authorities related to counterterrorism cooperation and intelligence sharing. Loomer accused him of endorsing what she described as “pro-Islamic terror” agendas, without providing evidence for the claims.
“FBI Director Kash Patel is in Qatar where he just signed MOUs with Qatar’s pro-Islamic terror Ministry of Interior and an intelligence sharing agreement,” she claimed in another post.
She also alleged that Patel’s actions could have long-term national security consequences. “It’s the American people who are going to pay the price for this shady wheeling and dealing with Qatari terrorists,” Loomer said, while alleging that she had been tracking Qatari political and social influence in the United States.
Loomer further claimed that Patel had attended a Qatari-sponsored event in Washington, describing it as part of a wider pattern of interaction with groups she accused of supporting Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
