In a fresh escalation of hostilities, Ukraine on Saturday claimed that a Russian missile struck the warehouse of Indian pharmaceutical company Kusum in Ukraine. The attack, Kyiv alleged, caused significant damage to life-saving medicines intended for children and the elderly.

The Ukrainian government accused Russia of acting hypocritically, stating that while Moscow often talks about a “special friendship” with India, it continues to target Indian interests within Ukrainian territory. Taking to social media platform X, the Embassy of Ukraine in India wrote, “Today, a Russian missile struck the warehouse of Indian pharmaceutical company Kusum in Ukraine.”

The statement further alleged that the attack was not incidental but a deliberate attempt to harm Indian businesses operating in Ukraine. “While claiming ‘special friendship’ with India, Moscow deliberately targets Indian businesses — destroying medicines meant for children and the elderly,” the Ukrainian embassy said.
