Four people were injured in a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv's Nahalat Binyamin neighbourhood on Tuesday evening, as Israel's ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza entered its third day. The suspect, identified as Abdelaziz Kaddi, a 29-year-old Moroccan national holding a US green card, was killed by an armed civilian at the scene, reported Times of Israel.

Kaddi reportedly entered Israel on January 18 with a tourist visa. Officials stated he acted alone, with no evidence of accomplices. Tel Aviv District Commander Asst-Ch Haim Sargaroff confirmed the attack is being treated as an act of terrorism, the report stated.

The victims, aged between 24 and 59, were treated by Israel’s Magen David Adom ambulance service. Two were listed in moderate condition, while the others sustained minor injuries.

The attack adds to a series of violent incidents in Israel over the past months. In a similar event last October, an Arab Israeli on a moped injured six people in Hadera before being shot by civilians.

Meanwhile, Israel launched a military operation in the occupied West Bank, resulting in nine Palestinian deaths and over 40 injuries. The ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza does not extend to the West Bank, where near-daily Israeli raids often lead to clashes.

The Gaza truce, designed to last at least six weeks, includes the release of 33 hostages held by Hamas in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian detainees. Investigations into the accused’s actions and movements in Israel are ongoing.
