United States President Donald Trump announced a mega deal for a new oil refinery in Brownsville, Texas, with investment from India's Reliance Industries, marking the first new US refinery in 50 years. The refinery will be opened in Brownsville, Texas. Trump called it a historic USD 300 billion deal that has been signed and thanked Indian partners for the success. He asserted that "America is returning to real energy" with this major deal.

The USD 300 billion project aims to boost US energy production, strengthen national security, and create thousands of jobs. Trump hailed the deal as the "biggest in US history," crediting his administration's "America First" policies for attracting the investment. Trump also thanked Reliance Industries for their "tremendous Investment" in his post.

In a post on Truth Social, he wrote, "DOMINANCE! Today I am proud to announce that America First Refining is opening the FIRST new U.S. Oil Refinery in 50 YEARS in Brownsville, Texas. THIS IS A HISTORIC $300 BILLION DOLLAR DEAL - THE BIGGEST IN U.S. HISTORY, A MASSIVE WIN for American Workers, Energy, and the GREAT People of South Texas! Thank you to our partners in India, and their largest privately held Energy Company, Reliance, for this tremendous investment."

Trump Touts 'American Energy Dominance'

Trump called this deal a massive win for American workers, energy, and the people of South Texas, where the refinery will be set up. He stated that the upcoming refinery in Brownsville is expected to fuel US markets, power global exports, and be the "cleanest refinery in the world". He emphasized the project's significance, by stating "This is what American energy dominance looks like." 

He added, "It is because of our America First Agenda, streamlining Permits, and lowering Taxes, that have attracted Billions of Dollars in Deals coming back to our Nation. A new Refinery at the Port of Brownsville, will fuel U.S. Markets, strengthen our National Security, boost American Energy production, deliver Billions of Dollars in Economic impact, and will be THE CLEANEST REFINERY IN THE WORLD. It will power Global Exports, and bring THOUSANDS of long overdue Jobs and Growth to a Region that deserves it. This is what AMERICAN ENERGY DOMINANCE looks like. AMERICA FIRST, ALWAYS!"

 

The deal between Reliance Industries and the US is a significant milestone for India. It marks the country's largest energy investment abroad.
