In a unique gesture, Dan Scavino, Assistant to US President Donald Trump and White House Deputy Chief of Staff, congratulated Kash Patel for his confirmation as the new Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) chief.
Scavino shared a Bollywood-inspired video on X featuring an edited scene from the ‘Bajirao Mastani.’ In the video, Scavino superimposed Patel’s face onto the actor Ranveer Singh’s character in the song ‘Malhari.’
The video captioned, “Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, @Kash_Patel,” gained a massive 4.1 million views. In the edited video, Scavino focused on the lyrics, “Dheere-dheere badi chali, badi chali hai…Jo thi chingaari,” marking Patel’s success.

People from both nations reacted to the video with their humour and enthusiasm towards the fusion blending American political development with Indian cinematic culture. One user commented, “Bollywood meme is now being made for the FBI's boss. By the way Congratulations to Kash Patel.” “That’s diversity and inclusion,” said another.
An Indian user shared the translation of the lyrics mentioned in the video, with the comment receiving over 13.3k views. “Slowly, slowly, it starts to rise, A tiny spark now fills the skies. Burning bright, oh wild and free, A rainbow heart inside of me. Once so dark, this night unfolds, Now it shimmers in hues of gold. Oh, hear the clash, the burst, the blaze, Watch the fire set the world ablaze. Our foes will see, their time is done, For victory shines like the rising sun,” the comment read.
The US President confirmed Patel's appointment as the ninth director of the FBI, marking a significant milestone as he became the first Indian-origin individual to lead the FBI. Patel, a long-time ally of President Trump, has previously held key positions, including Chief of Staff to the Acting Secretary of Defense and roles within the National Security Council.
