X Down Today: On Monday, X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a massive outage, leaving thousands of users across the world unable to access the platform. According to Downdetector, a website that tracks online service disruptions, the outage affected users in multiple countries, with nearly 2,000 reports from India, 18,000 in the United States, and 10,000 in the United Kingdom.

The disruption primarily impacted users trying to access the app and website. In the US, 57 per cent of affected users reported issues with the mobile app, 34 per cent encountered problems on the website, and 9 per cent experienced server-related errors. In the UK, the figures were similar, with 61 per cent of users facing app issues, 34 per cent struggling with the website, and 5 per centreporting server outages.

Indian reports were limited despite the global impact of the outage. Downdetector India recorded around 2,600 complaints at its peak, with 80 per cent of users facing website access issues, 11 per cent struggling to log in, and 9 per cent experiencing problems with the X mobile app. The outage began around 3:20 PM IST, with global reports exceeding 19,000 within minutes. X has not yet disclosed the cause of the disruption.

Despite the widespread outage, X has yet to issue an official statement addressing the issue or providing a timeline for resolution. Many users attempting to access the app were met with an error message stating, “Something went wrong, try reloading.”

As expected, the outage led to a flurry of reactions from frustrated users, with many turning to other social media platforms to express their concerns or share humorous takes on the situation. One user joked, “Users running to Twitter to tweet Twitter is down #TwitterDown,” while another wrote, “Twitter was down for like 30 minutes and I felt my world collapsing.”
