A mysterious metallic object known as the “Buga Sphere” has sparked global curiosity and intense debate after being discovered near Buga, Colombia, in March 2025. The orb, reportedly seen flying erratically before crashing to the ground, has been linked to claims of alien technology, advanced physics, and even reactions to Sanskrit mantras.

Witnesses said the sphere was observed moving unpredictably in the sky before falling in a rural area near the town of Buga. Soon after its recovery, reports surfaced about its unusual construction and baffling physical behaviour, quickly turning it into an internet sensation and a subject of scientific and paranormal speculation.

Unusual Physical Structure

Researchers who examined the object described a seamless metallic surface with no visible welds or joints. According to claims revealed at a UNAM-hosted press conference organised by researcher Jaime Maussan, microscopic scans allegedly showed complex internal wiring similar to fibre-optic systems. The sphere is said to contain a central “nucleus” or “chip” surrounded by multiple microspheres and three distinct metallic layers.

Dr. Carlos Muñoz and engineer Rodolfo Garrido stated that the object appears capable of transmitting and receiving signals, based on the complexity of its internal structure. They also claimed it contains intricate, non-conventional wiring patterns not typically seen in standard industrial design.

Mantra Reactions And Bizarre Properties

One of the most unusual claims surrounding the Buga Sphere is that it responds to Sanskrit mantras. Viral videos show the object allegedly reacting, through vibration, movement, or light changes, when specific chants are recited nearby. Some theorists suggest it could be a resonant communication device or a form of sound-activated technology.

The sphere has also been linked to a number of unexplained physical effects. Researchers said the location where it landed experienced complete grass and soil die-off, with no regrowth reported months later. Although no radiation was detected, scientists speculated that an “invisible energy” or a strong ionised field may have drained moisture from the area.

Weight Changes And Conflicting Theories

Another puzzling characteristic is its changing weight. Garrido claimed the object’s mass increased over time, from 16 pounds to 20 and later 22 pounds. Some proponents believe this supports the theory that the object manipulates gravity during flight.

While some researchers argue the sphere could be an extraterrestrial probe or an example of unknown physics, others remain sceptical. Cognitive neuroscientist and UAP researcher Julia Mossbridge told Fox News that the object “seems kind of like an art project,” suggesting it was likely created by humans.
