Newly released photos of the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson have surfaced, revealing a smiling gunman whose face had previously been concealed by a mask. Thompson was tragically killed on Wednesday morning just before a crucial investor meeting was set to take place. The images, captured at a youth hostel on Manhattan's Upper West Side, come as the NYPD ramps up its efforts to locate the shooter, who was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the crime occurred.
Thompson, 50, was fatally shot by a masked gunman on Wednesday morning as he headed to a Hilton Hotel for an investor meeting. Surveillance photos have been released by the NYPD showing a person wanted for questioning in connection with the crime. Shell casings found at the scene contained the words ‘deny’, ‘defend’, and ‘depose’.
“The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the newly attached media wanted for questioning in connection with the below-listed homicide,” the NYPD’s media affairs office said in a statement.

Wife Of Slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Reveals Husband Received Threats Before Murder
Paulette Thompson, the wife of slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, revealed that her husband had received ‘some threats’ prior to his murder. She shared this information in an interview with NBC News, although she did not know the specific details of the threats, only that he had mentioned people threatening him.
"The motive for this murder is currently unknown, but based on the evidence we have so far, it does appear the victim was specifically targeted," she added.
Detectives, speaking anonymously to CNN, believe the suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson operated with precision and care, indicating they may be an experienced marksman. However, the weapon used has not yet been identified.
