World's longest passenger train: Travelling on a train on a long journey is always like a joyride, especially when you travel with friends and family members. Trains are always the first choice for many people as it offers unlimited fun by providing several features, including views of picturesque landscapes. There are many kinds of trains being operated by the railways networks across the globe. The railways launch a few special trains to increase footfall of passengers.

In such an attempt, the Rhaetian Railway in Switzerland launched the world's longest passenger train, a record-breaking 1,910-meter (6,270 ft/1.91km) long train. It was operated by the Rhaetian Railway in Switzerland on October 29, 2022, consisting of 100 coaches.

Length: 1,910 meters (6,270 ft/1.91km)

Route: The train traveled on the Albula-Bernina route, a UNESCO World Heritage site, from Preda to Alvaneu

Coaches: Around 100 coaches 

Engines: 25 modern Capricorn engines

Purpose: The train was operated to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Swiss railways

Passengers: The train carried 150 passengers on its journey

Speed: The train operates at a speed of 30 to 35 km/h

Significance of the train: The train set a world record for the longest passenger train and it also entered into the Guinness Book of World Records. 

Other long trains:

-India is also included in the elite club. Indian Railways operates Super Vasuki - India's longest and heaviest freight train, which ran in 2022. It was 3.5 kilometers long and carried 27,000 tonnes of coal. 

-The Vivek Express is India's longest express train by distance, with 22 coaches.

-BHP Billiton's "Mt. Goldsworthy" freight train set a record for the longest and heaviest freight train in 2001, weighing 99,734 tons and measuring 4.5 miles long.
