What The Fact: Return-to-office mandates are back. But Gen Z has a surprising take. For many, going back to the office isn’t just about productivity. It’s about spicing up their sex lives.
A survey by EduBirdie found that 29 per cent of Gen Z believe office life could boost intimacy. Distance from partners makes them crave more connection. But some don’t want to wait until they’re home.
Private Spaces, Please
Here’s the shocker: 38 per cent of Gen Z want private spaces at work for sex or solo play. That means conference rooms could have competition. Whether with a partner or alone, the idea is gaining traction. Fast Company reported the findings, sparking conversations about what “perks” really mean for young workers.
And it doesn’t stop there. Remote workers also admit sex is a priority. Almost 47 per cent per cent say remote setups make intimacy easier. Less commuting, more time for love. Simple math.

Sex Days Over Sick Days?
Another bold idea floating around: sex days. Forget sick days. Gen Z, millennials, and even older workers want leave for intimacy. Paid or unpaid, the concept is framed as wellness. ZipHealth researchers argue it’s about health, balance, and personal care.
It’s not just about fun. It’s about confidence too. 42 per cent of respondents said returning to the office makes them feel more attractive. Dressing up beats lounging in hoodies and UGGs. That boost in self-image ties back to better intimacy.
Future Of Workplace Culture
Gen Z isn’t shy about redefining what office life should look like. For them, intimacy, wellness, and self-expression sit right alongside productivity. Whether companies embrace these unconventional demands or push back, one thing is clear: work is no longer just about paychecks, but about lifestyle and emotional fulfillment too.
Breaking The Taboo
Remote work brings flexibility and a boost in sex life. Back at the office, Gen Z craves private spaces but also fears work-life balance slipping. Still, in-person vibes deliver a bonus, confidence and mood get a serious lift. Office hookups used to be taboo. Not anymore. Gen Z is openly questioning why romance at work is frowned upon. If nearly a third believe office life helps their sex life, the old rules may fade.
So, will future offices come with “love lounges”? Gen Z seems to think it’s a reasonable request.
