Japanese automaker Toyota has made changes to the 2024 GR Yaris as it will now be available with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission called Direct Automatic Transmission. This automatic gearbox is designed to shift gears quickly and has specific features for track performance. It has been tested in races like the Super Taikyu endurance series and the Japan Rally Championship, making the GR Yaris competitive with other cars in the segment that have automatic transmissions.

2024 Toyota GR Yaris - Performance Upgrades
Apart from the new automatic transmission, the 2024 GR Yaris has been modified significantly. There is a new ‘Circuit’ feature that enables enhanced cooling with an extra radiator, intercooler spray and a new intake system. Models with the automatic gearbox have a specific gearbox cooler, visible in the side intakes. The turbocharged three-cylinder engine has also been tweaked to churn out more power with enhancements like a powerful valvetrain, new exhaust valve material, higher direct injection pressure, a new intake air pressure sensor and lighter redesigned pistons.
2024 Toyota GR Yaris - Cosmetic Updates
Talking about cosmetic changes, the 2024 GR Yaris has been revamped with various modifications in its exterior and interior. The front bumper has a more striking design to accommodate extra coolers and the interior has undergone a complete transformation with a driver-centric design. The dashboard is different and may seem a bit old-fashioned compared to the previous model, now features a 12.3-inch digital driver's display borrowed from the GR Corolla. Additionally, this updates GR Yaris won't be available in all global markets, its features might be incorporated into upcoming GR Corolla models.
