Air India Airbus A350 900 News:  Amidst Air India’s struggle to induct new planes, the airline received another major setback in the form of a damaged Airbus A350 900 plane. The engine of the Flight AI 101 was extensively damaged by a cargo container at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

An Air India Airbus A350 900 plane bound for New York was damaged on Thursday by a cargo container, which was not properly secured. The video of the post-accident scene was shared by an onboard passenger on social media, and it has now gone viral. The damage to the engine was so severe that it can also be seen in the video. The Air India flight AI 101 decided to return to Delhi as the Iranian airspace was closed. But as the flight was being taxiied to the parking bay, an unsecured cargo container was sucked by the plane’s right engine, and it received severe damage.

Impact On New York And London Flight Operations

Notably, Air India owns a total of 6 Airbus A350 900 planes. The Airbus A350 900 plane is used by the airline on international flight routes such as New Delhi-New York, New Delhi-Newark, Mumbai-JFK, and New Delhi-London. Air India has also issued a warning on possible disruptions of flights between these routes. It is worth mentioning that two additional Air India flights- Delhi to Newark and Mumbai-JFK were also cancelled due to the incident.
