Ampere Reo VYB Electric Scooter: The Ampere Reo VYB electric scooter has been launched in India at Rs 69,499 (ex-showroom). Ampere is the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility. The Reo VYB electric scooter is unique in the sense that it doesn’t require a license or even RTO registration. This way, the scooter is more appealing to buyers under the age of 18 years.
Ampere Reo VYB: Hardware & Design
The Ampere Reo VYB looks sportier than the Reo 80, and it comes equipped with LED headlights, positioned on the apron, along with LED DRLs. Additionally, it features ambient lighting on the side panels, a disc brake at the front and a drum brake setup at the rear. It has a 140mm ground clearance, and suspension duty is handled by telescopic brakes at the front and a coil spring with a damper at the rear.

Ampere Reo VYB: Features And Range
The Ampere Reo VYB comes equipped with a colour LCD instrument cluster. In terms of features, the scooter features full LED lighting, keyless go, reverse mode, a 24-litre underseat storage, and more. The brand is offering a battery warranty of 1,00,000 kilometre, but as per the advertisement, the warranty on the battery pack is valid for 30,000 kilometres or 3 years, whichever comes first. The scooter is powered by a 1.44 kWh LFP battery pack, and the electric motor can generate a peak power and torque output of 0.25 kW and 35 Nm, respectively. The brand claims a range of up to 80 km for the scooter.

Ampere Reo VYB: Why Doesn’t It Need A License?
The brand has limited the top speed of the Ampere Reo VYB electric scooter to 25 km/h. That’s why it doesn’t require a license or even RTO registrations. The brand is aiming to attract buyers under the age of 18, and with the Reo VYB, the brand seems to address the adoption of electric vehicles in India’s tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
