Ather Rizta Price in India: Ather Energy has unveiled a Battery-as-a-Service (Baas) model for its Rizta family scooter, reducing the amount one needs to pay upon purchase. With BaaS, the Ather Rizta is now priced from Rs 75,999 for the base model to Rs 84,341 for the 450 Series. The prices are ex-showroom, Lucknow.

Ather BaaS Model: What is it, Subscription Cost, Benefits

Aimed at making electric vehicles more accessible than ICE (internal combustion engine) models, BaaS, in essence, separates battery ownership from electric vehicle ownership, allowing customers to purchase the scooter shell while subscribing to battery usage through flexible monthly plan.

In partnership with banks/non-banking financial corporations and other entities, Ather will offer the BaaS model which features 'a usage-based payment system for the battery component', with the price starting as low as Rs 1 per kilometre for a 48-month package with a minimum monthly usage of 1,000 kilometres. According to Ather, the cost of the battery is recovered over a period of 3 to 4 years, based on consumers' preferences.

Apart from 30 per cent lower upfront costs, buyers also benefit from free fast charging for a year at Ather’s 3,300 public charging points across the country.

Ather Also Extended Assured Buyback Programme

In another update, Ather has extended its Assured Buyback programme launched in February for a small group of customers. The programme, according to Ather, now offers up to 60 per cent of the scooter’s value at the end of three years and up to 50 per cent after four years, subject to the kilometres travelled.

'With BaaS, ECW (Extended Comprehensive Warranty), and Assured Buyback, we aim to address major barriers that exist for customers when purchasing a new EV scooter. As one of the leading players, we stay committed to making it easier for families to experience the benefits of EVs,' said Ravneet S Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy.
