German luxury car manufacturer Audi has established an ultra-fast charging station in India that boasts a capacity of 450 kWh. This charging station has been put in place at Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and it can provide up to 360 kW of power to an electric vehicle which is facilitated by a 500 amp liquid-cooled gun. The new technology is expected to enhance performance and efficiency, resulting in increased energy displacement.

Audi claims that the RE-powered ultra-fast charger is capable of charging the Q8 55 e-tron from 20-80 percent in a mere 26 minutes. The Audi Q8 55 e-tron is equipped with a substantial 114 kWh battery pack which is the largest battery pack fitted among passenger electric vehicles in India. Additionally, the ultra-fast charging station is powered by solar panels making sure that it is sticking to sustainable and clean energy practices. “The inauguration of India's first, ultra-fast charging station by Audi India is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for our valued customers. The ultra-fast charging 'e-tron hub' is located in the heart of Mumbai - Bandra Kurla Complex, which is accessible to a large number of electric vehicle owners. The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time. We are establishing new benchmarks within the industry and reinforcing our dedication to the future of sustainable mobility,” said Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India.

This newly launched RE-powered ultra-fast charging station will be open to all electric vehicle owners in the city. Additionally, Audi EV owners can avail free charging benefits until March 202. These charging points will have trained personnel for assistance and a dedicated lounge for EV owners to relax during the charging process. Also, Audi India has introduced the 'e-tron hub' on the myAudi Connect mobile app that offers detailed information about the ultra-fast charging station. The app provides customer-centric details for EV buyers and displays charging stations from five partners - Aargo EV Smart, Charge Zone, Relux Electric, LionCharge, and Zeon Charging.
