The B-2 Spirit Bomber was developed by Northrop Grumman in the era of the Cold War, and it was specifically designed to carry out airstrikes in the disputed airspaces without being discovered. The company developed 21 of these stealth fighter jets for the US Air Force, and each one has an estimated cost of 2.1 billion dollars (Approximately Rs 1.8 lakh crore).

B-2 Bomber: Capabilities

The US B-2 Bomber can carry conventional weapons, GPS-guided bombs, Glide Bombs, and long-range cruise Missiles, along with MOPs (Massive Ordnance Penetrator), which were used in the Iran airstrike. The US B-2 Bomber can also carry B83 nuclear bombs, which are part of the US nuclear triad. As per several media reports, the B-2 bomber has a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles, which is more than 11,000 kilometers without refuelling. Not just this, it can fly up for up to 40 hours without the need to land with mid-air fuelling.
