Chinese EV manufacturer Build Your Dreams (BYD) has announced that their Seal electric sedan has received over one thousand bookings within the first three months since its launch. As of May 20, the company revealed that the Seal electric sedan secured 500 bookings in the last two months, following an initial 500 bookings within just 15 days of its launch.

The Seal is BYD's most expensive electric car in India, with prices reaching up to Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in three variants. The BYD Seal EV is marketed as a performance electric sedan boasting a range of up to 650 kilometres on a single charge. It was launched in the Indian market on March 5 and bookings for the Seal EV opened on the same day.
BYD Seal EV - Battery and Range
The BYD Seal EV comes in three variants with different motor and battery configurations. The entry-level Dynamic and mid-spec Premium variants feature rear-wheel drive, while the top-end Performance variant includes all-wheel drive technology. The Dynamic variant is equipped with a 61.4 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 510 kilometres on a single charge. The Premium and Performance variants both come with a larger 82.56 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 650 kilometres on a single charge.
BYD Seal EV - Performance
In terms of performance, the BYD Seal Dynamic variant delivers a power output of 201 bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque. The Premium variant offers a power output of 308 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque. The top-tier Performance variant boasts a power output of 522 bhp and 670 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
BYD Seal EV - Features
The BYD Seal EV also comes packed with features, including a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, wireless connectivity, connected car features, dual wireless charging ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a fixed panoramic sunroof. For safety, it includes nine airbags, blind spot monitoring, a tire pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, a Head-up Display, and level-2 ADAS technology.
