Car Safety Features: Safety has become paramount in this modern age in almost all spheres of life starting from technology, digital spaces and also when it comes to the car you’re driving. You’ll feel relieved knowing that cars today are equipped with the latest safety features that prevent the occurrence of mishaps. Cars now come with standard safety features like airbags, ISOFIX mounts, strong structural integrity, driver assistance features, etc. that help in reducing the impact during a crash or even stop one from happening. Whether you’re looking to buy a hatchback, a sedan or an SUV, make sure that the car is equipped with these essential safety features.

Airbags

Airbags are a key safety component that is available in almost every car these days. All automobile manufacturers now offer 2 airbags as standard in all vehicles. However, when you’re looking to purchase a car, make sure that the car you prefer has minimum 6 airbags equipped in the car as standard. Airbags function by deploying a cushion-like device between the car’s dashboard and the driver or passenger. The inclusion of airbags in cars helps in preventing serious injuries as they absorb and distribute the impact of the collision.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

Another important safety feature in a car is the ABS and EBD technology. ABS and EBD have proved to be helpful in situations where one has to suddenly apply the brakes of the car. During sudden braking while driving the car, the wheels of the car lock up and get out of control. In such situations, ABS and EBD prevent the locking and slipping of the wheels which results in better stability and control over the car even during sudden braking.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

The ESC technology functions by monitoring the angle of the steering wheel and also the wheel rotations of the car. ESC plays a crucial role in preventing a vehicle from skidding and the driver from losing control while turning around a corner or making abrupt maneuvers as it has monitored the maximum steering angle and general wheel rotations of the car and stops the car from skidding incase of unusual oversteering. ESC operates by automatically applying the brakes to help guide the vehicle in the correct direction, enhancing safety and stability.

Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

The main role of the TPMS is to help the car in operating smoothly by making sure that all four wheels of the car are properly aligned and have the required air pressure in all the tyres. In case of lower air pressure in tyred, there are chances of heavy wear and tear on the tyre which can also lead to the tyre bursting and you losing control over your car. The TPMS sends a notification alert on the digital instrument cluster of the car indicating low air pressure in any of the tyres of the car and therefore alerting the driver immediately.
