Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV - Design and Features
The Citroen Basalt coupe SUV concept was revealed earlier this year. Now, the Basalt SUV has been spotted in India, offering a sneak peek at the production-ready Citroen coupe SUV. The spy shots have given us insights into its design and features. In the spy shots, the Citroen Basalt can be seen without camouflage, closely resembling the striking design of the concept.
While the spied Basalt seems to be a mid-level variant as features like alloy wheels and projector LED headlights from the concept are missing. Higher-end trims are expected to offer a range of premium amenities. It will be positioned above the C3 Aircross and the Basalt is likely to come with LED projector headlights, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, push-button start and ventilated seats.
Safety is a key focus for Citroen as it plans to include six airbags, ISOFIX points, and seat belt reminders as standard across all Basalt variants. This demonstrates the brand's commitment to maintaining high safety standards in line with global norms.

Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV - Powertrain
While Citroen hasn't officially announced the powertrain specifics for the Basalt, there are speculations about it sharing the same engine as the C3 Aircross, in line with the C-Cubed program's strategy. This engine is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged engine capable of generating 108 bhp and 205 Nm of torque when coupled with the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. If equipped with the 6-speed manual gearbox, the torque output might slightly decrease to 190 Nm.
