Citroen Basalt X India Launch: Citroen will reveal its new Basalt X coupe-SUV on September 5 in India. Citroen's official teaser images, as well as the latest spy images, reveal similarities to the standard Basalt. Positioned as the top-spec variant in the Basalt lineup, the upcoming X is expected to be available in at least an all-black colour option, as seen in the image. While most of the design elements are likely to be carried over from the existing iteration, the Basalt X will be marked out by the new 'X' badging on the tailgate.

Citroen Basalt X: Features

The Citroen Basalt X is expected to go on sale alongside the existing Basalt and be priced similarly to the C3 X. As per the '2.0' strategy revealed last month, the upgrades on the Basalt X will mainly focus on in-cabin tech and comfort, aligning 'closer than ever with Indian customers'.

Likely to be a premium variant, the Basalt X could bring two-toned black-and-tan upholstery and a redesigned dashboard with a new patterned finish and bronze inserts, along with refreshed AC vents. Tech and comfort features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, wireless charging, keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, and an engine start-stop button. Safety-wise, we expect the Basalt X to be as safe as the standard version, which got a 4-star safety rating from GNCAP. Expect it to offer six airbags, ESP, TPMS, and hill hold assist.
