New Maruti Suzuki SUV Unveiled: Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its new midsize SUV for the Indian market, the Victoris. Unlike the Grand Vitara, the Victoris is an Arena model; it is also the brand's first model to offer Level 2 ADAS. With its recent addition to the SUV portfolio, the Victoris could shake up the hotly contested midsize SUV segment, currently dominated by the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. We compare the newly unveiled Maruti Suzuki Victoris with Hyundai's bestselling Creta to see what sets them apart:
Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Dimensions
Dimensionally, the new Victoris measures 4,360mm in length, 1,795mm in width, and 1,655mm in height, making it 30mm longer, 5mm wider, and 20mm taller than the Hyundai Creta. The Creta, however, features a longer wheelbase of 2,610mm compared to the Victoris' 2,600mm. Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Victoris with 17-inch aero-cut alloy wheels, while allowing the SUV to hold up to 55 litres of fuel.

Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Features
Instrumentation-wise, the Victoris gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto as well as a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The former offers an integrated app store with 35+ applications, Alexa voice assist, and OTA updates, while the latter comes with multiple display modes.
On the other hand, the Creta, which has now been updated with new features and special editions, features a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital cluster, depending on the variants. The Creta also offers voice recognition, OTA updates, Home-to-Car Alexa, JioSaavn music streaming, and connected car tech.
Common bits include ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver's seat, wireless charging, automatic climate control, paddle shifters, and 3 drive modes (Victoris gets Eco, Power, and Normal, whereas Creta offers Eco, Normal, and Sport). The Victoria additionally comes with a powered tailgate with gesture control, a segment-first feature. A panoramic sunroof is available on both SUVs, but the Creta gets a voice-enabled one. Besides, the Victoris misses out on a 2-step rear reclining seat function.

Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Safety Equipment
In terms of safety, the Creta and the Victoris come standard with 6 airbags, ISOFIX-compatible rear seats, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and seatbelt reminders (for all seats). A tyre pressure monitor is standard with the Creta, whereas it is available with select variants of the Victoris. The Creta offers rear disc brakes as against the Victoris' all-wheel disc brakes.
Both models are also fitted with rear and front parking sensors, an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. Maruti Suzuki has introduced over 10 intelligent driver-assist features for the Victoris, including adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitor. Meanwhile, the Creta's ADAS suite packs 19 features, including an emergency stop signal and hill start assist.
Moreover, the Victoris comes with the brand's MultiTerrain Mode Selector with Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock modes. The Creta, on the other hand, has Snow, Mud, and Sand as traction control modes. On top of it, the Victoris is a 5-star-rated SUV, as per the BNCAP crash test.
Hyundai Creta vs Maruti Suzuki Victoris: Powertrain
The new Victoris receives mild-hybrid petrol, strong hybrid, and petrol-CNG options. The hybrid powertrain draws power from lithium-ion batteries. Power output varies from 87bhp to 114bhp. Note that it is the first Maruti Suzuki to get an underbody CNG kit. As for the Creta, Hyundai offers a 113bhp petrol engine, a 115bhp diesel, and a 158bhp turbo-petrol engine.
