Confirmed: Tesla Coming To India On July 15, First Showroom Set To Open In Mumbai

Tesla India News:  Elon Musk-led Tesla, the world’s second-largest EV manufacturer, is set to make its official debut in India on July 15, 2025. The EV manufacturer will begin its journey in the country by opening its first showroom at the posh location of BKC, Mumbai. As per several reports, Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, will be present at the inauguration ceremony of the showroom in Mumbai.

First Showroom In India

On June 24, 2025, several pics of a showroom being built for Tesla, in BKC Mumbai, appeared on the social media platform X. Now, it is confirmed that the first showroom will open at the BKC complex in Mumbai. As per several media reports, the brand will also open a second showroom in the country, which is expected to be in the national capital, Delhi.

First Tesla Car In India

Model Y, one of Tesla’s most popular nameplates globally, can be the brand’s first offering in the country. The homologation process for its Model Y and Model 3 cars was initiated by the brand back in March 2025. It is expected that Tesla will launch Model Y in the coming months, with bookings beginning on July 15. The Model Y is known globally for its long range, fast acceleration, and cutting-edge technology features. It is also the most affordable vehicle from Tesla. The Tesla SUV was spotted testing several times in India recently.

Tesla Cars To Be Imported From China

Currently, Tesla doesn’t have a Manufacturing plant in the country, and it is expected to import vehicles from its Shanghai-based Gigafactory. So far, the Brand has imported merchandise, superchargers, service tools, and accessories as well. As per reports, the Tesla Model Y has a documented price of Rs 27.7 lakhs, but each imported unit will attract around Rs 21 lakhs, which will place it at a price ranging between Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 55 lakhs.
