The Delhi Government led by BJP has introduced the D.EV.i (Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchange) service of the national capital of India. Under the initiative, a fleet of modern, eco-friendly buses built by Indian electric bus maker, PMI Electro Mobility have been deployed. The buses are expected to prevent nearly 5,600 tons of CO2 emissions over 10 years in Delhi.
During launch of Delhi Government’s DEVi electric bus initiative, a fleet of 255 fully electric, 9-meter PMI buses were inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta, in the presence of Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport & Highways and Corporate Affairs; and Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister, Education, GOI, along with MPs of Delhi & Cabinet Ministers of GNCTD.
The D.EV.i service aims to improve the last mile connectivity of Delhi, by launching feeders between the main DTC and Cluster bus network. This is the first phase of the Delhi Government’s ambitious plan to introduce 2,080 (9 Meter) electric neighbourhood buses between 2025 and 2026.
