GRAP 4 Rules Delhi:  The Delhi government announced new restrictions on vehicular operations in the national capital to curb pollution on Wednesday. The GRAP 4 restrictions are in effect from today onwards. From fuel curbs on vehicles without PUC to a ban on the entry of BS-IV and BS-III vehicles in the national capital, several measures were announced by Delhi’s environment minister, Manjinder Sirsa, on Wednesday. Which vehicles will not be allowed to refuel? What is the penalty? Which vehicles are now banned from entering Delhi, we are telling you here.

GRAP 4 Rules Delhi: ‘No PUC No Fuel’

From today onwards, any vehicle without a valid PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate will not be allowed to refuel at the petrol stations. As per the announcement made by the government, the petrol stations in the national capital have been equipped with ANPR cameras. The ANPR stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras. These cameras will automatically detect whether a vehicle has an invalid PUC, and the vehicle will not be dispensed fuel at the fuel station.

GRAP 4 Rules Delhi: Vehicle Ban

The environment minister of Delhi also announced that non-BS-VI vehicles registered outside Delhi will not be allowed entry into the national capital. This essentially means that BS-IV and BS-III vehicles will now not be allowed to enter Delhi. The government made it mandatory for all vehicles to have BS-VI or Bharat Stage 6 emission standards from April 1, 2020. Which means, if you own a vehicle that was manufactured before April 2026 and it is registered outside Delhi, it will now not be allowed entry to the national capital.

GRAP 4 Rules Delhi: Penalty

The environment minister of Delhi, Manjinder Sirsa, also informed us that more than 8 lakh vehicle owners were fined recently. If a vehicle owner is found with an invalid PUC, they might attract penalties of up to Rs 10,000, and the vehicle can also be impounded if found to be a repeated violator. Additionally, entering Delhi with a non-BS-VI vehicle can attract fines of up to Rs 20,000, and repeated violations might lead to impoundment of the vehicle.
