BSA Thunderbolt ADV: After TVS, BSA has unveiled its first-ever adventure bike, named the Thunderbolt, marking its official entry into the ever-expanding ADV segment. The legendary British brand's resurrection—the Thunderbolt itself—will go on sale in the international market in mid-2026. As for the Indian market, it is too early to tell if the model could make its way here in the near future. However, if it does, the model will compete with other ADVs in the 300-350cc space, such as the TVS Apache RTX and the Hero Xpulse 210.

BSA Thunderbolt: Engine, Underpinnings

The BSA Thunderbolt, reincarnated as a 334cc single-cylinder bike, shares most of its underpinnings with the Yezdi Adventure bike. Powering the BSA Thunderbolt is the familiar 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine, which complies with Euro 5+ standards. The engine develops 29bhp at 8,000rpm and 29.6Nm at 5,800rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Thunderbolt is the first bike from Classic Legends to feature a global ADV platform that will also underpin upcoming Jawa and Yezdi bikes. Suspension is taken care of by an inverted front fork (with 200mm of travel) and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock (with 180mm of travel). The bike is fitted with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels wrapped in 90/90 front and 130/80 rear tyres.

BSA Thunderbolt: Electronics, Features

The electronics package includes a slip-and-assist clutch, traction control, and dual-channel ABS with three modes (Road, Rain, and Off-Road). Like the Yezdi Adventure, the Thunderbolt gets a TFT dash, albeit a coloured one. The TFT display is Bluetooth-enabled and offers turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also features an adjustable windscreen and a USB charging port.

A rally-inspired front fender, a twin-pod headlamp setup, a semi-fairing, a metal engine bash plate, an upswept exhaust, and knuckle guards make up the styling components. The BSA Thunderbolt weighs 185kg (dry) and has a fuel tank capacity of 15.5 litres, comparable to the Kawasaki Z900, Honda CB1000 Hornet, and the Triumph Street Triple RS.
