Hero Hunk 440 SX: This year, Hero MotoCorp brought the Hunk 440 SX and the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition to the EICMA motor show in Milan, Italy. The former is a scrambler-styled version of the Mavrick 440, while the latter draws inspiration from the race bikes competing in the Dakar Rally. Both models are engineered with input from the Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the motorsport division of Hero. Let's take a closer look at each of them:
Hero Hunk 440 SX: What does it Get?
The Hero Hunk 440 SX is the more off-road-oriented and rugged variant of the Hunk 440, which is the rebadged Mavrick 440 sold abroad. However, Hero's export-spec Mavrick 440 is offered with a golden-coloured inverted front fork and a TFT dash, compared to a gaitered telescopic front fork on the recently showcased Hunk 440 SX.

The Hero Hunk 440 SX features a steel tube perimeter main frame with long-travel suspension. Compared to the Hunk 440, the more rugged SX gets a larger 18-inch front wheel (and a 17-inch rear wheel), split-type seats, a flyscreen, a redesigned grab rail, a longer rear fender, a new taillight, an upswept dual-port exhaust muffler, and braced handlebars, among other visual updates.
Powering the Hunk 440 SX is a 440cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, but the power and torque figures are yet to be known. The electronics package includes ride-by-wire, traction control, switchable ABS, and ride modes. We don't expect Hero to bring this version to India in the near future, although it had trademarked the bike's design around a year ago.

Hero Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition: What does it Get?
Next is the rally-inspired Xpulse 210. Named the Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition, the bike features adjustable suspension with 280mm of wheel travel at both ends. It also offers an impressive 270mm ground clearance. While the seat height has yet to be ascertained, it should be taller than the standard model.

The engine is the same 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC unit, producing 24bhp and 20.7Nm of torque. If Hero plans to launch the bike in India, expect the pricing to be around the Rs 2 lakh mark.
