B-2 Bomber: The United States of America carried out airstrikes on Iran’s significant nuclear sites on June 22, 2025. While the airstrike on Iran’s nuclear sites gave us a glimpse of the B-2 bomber’s capabilities, what followed afterwards were the rumors and fake pics of the aircraft. Social media is flooded with pics showing B-2 bombers crashed and been destroyed to create a narrative and gain popularity. Here we are sharing a fact check on a few such images.
B-2 Bomber Crashed?
An image was recently shared on X, which shows a B-2 bomber crashed on the ground in Iran. To begin with, the B-2 bomber aircraft is well-known for its stealth technology. The plane is almost invisible to Radar, and the viral pic shows the aircraft lying flat after a crash. As per a BBC report, the photo is generated by using AI, and a man can be seen merging with the telltale sign in the background.

Planes Destroyed In Israel?
Another photo shows several planes being destroyed at an Israeli airport, possibly after a missile attack by Iran. This photo is a screenshot from a video posted on Instagram by an account named ‘3amelyon’. As per D-intent Data, a fake news detection centre and news research organisation, the video is AI-generated, and the account that shared it often shares AI-generated content.

Iran Destroyed B-2 Bomber?
Another Photo shows the infamous B-2 jet destroyed by Iran, and Iranian military personnel standing beside it. The image also has Iran’s flag in background. The size of the plane, shown in the photo, is too small. The actual B-2 is way too big what is shown in the image. This image is also an AI-generated image.
