The Indian automobile market has seen the launch of various supercars this year. From Ferrari's convertible masterpiece to McLaren's pioneering hybrid, and Lamborghini's off-road marvel, each of these cars embodies the spirit of automotive excellence and are the top three most expensive supercars launched in India in 2023. Let's delve into a little more detail about each one of them specifically. 

Ferrari 296 GTS 

Priced at Rs 6.24 crore, the Ferrari 296 GTS is the convertible version of the 296 GTB. It mirrors the GTB but adds a retractable metal roof that opens in 14 seconds at up to 45 km/h. The hybrid powertrain combines a 3.0-liter V6 with an electric motor, delivering 830bhp and 740Nm. With an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, it accelerates 0-100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 330 kmph, similar to the GTB despite being 70 kg heavier due to the roof.

McLaren Artura

McLaren has introduced its first plug-in hybrid supercar in India, the Artura, priced at Rs 5.1 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Sporting McLaren's iconic design, the Artura boasts of air intakes and sleek lines, along with distinctive butterfly doors and a center-mounted dual-exhaust setup at the rear. The car combines a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor, delivering a total of 680PS and 720 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. With a 7.4 kWh battery, the Artura can go 31 km in all-electric mode at up to 130 kmph. The hybrid supercar offers four driving modes: EMode, Comfort, Sport, and Track. In terms of performance, it accelerates 0-100 kmph in 3.0 seconds and claims a top speed of 330 kmph.

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato V10

The Huracan Sterrato V10 was launched in December, with deliveries that started in the new year. Priced at Rs 4.61 crore, this unique Lamborghini is an all-terrain variant of the regular Huracan. Only 1,499 units of the Sterrato will be sold globally, and despite the high cost, Lamborghini reports double-digit Indian bookings. Compared to the Huracan Evo, the Sterrato sits higher by 44 mm, features larger tracks, and sports 19-inch rims with specialized off-road Bridgestone tires. It also includes beefier fenders, skid plates, and roof rails, along with a roof scoop and roof-mounted aux LED lamps.

Under the hood, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato V10 houses a 610PS 5.2-litre engine, driving all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This off-road Huracan can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 kmph.
