Ferrari Luce Launch:  Ferrari, the renowned Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, recently revealed its first electric car, the Ferrari Luce. The Ferrari Luce has an unconventional design philosophy, and it has been designed in collaboration with LoveForm, a firm co-founded by the former Apple design chief. Prices for the Ferrari Luce start from 5,50,000 Euro (approximately Rs 6.10 crore). The brand has also announced the commencement of bookings for its first electric car. Let’s take a look at the design, interior, features, and specs of the newly launched Ferrari Luce.

Ferrari Luce: An Unconventional Design

The Ferrari Luce features an unconventional design that breaks the proportions of a traditional supercar. The Ferrari Luce is 5019mm long, and it has an aluminium body with a teardrop-shaped passenger cell. The windshield and the hood at the front are seamlessly merged into a single piece, and the fascia has a wing-like structure. The Luce gets 23-inch wheels at the front, while the rear gets 24-inch ones. At the rear, it gets a large black applique with integrated round LED taillights and prancing horse brand logo.

Ferrari Luce: Interior & Features

Notably, the Ferrari Luce is the first Ferrari to feature a 5-seater layout. The cabin uses aluminium, strengthened glass, and polished/matte steel. The central display can be rotated toward the passenger, and this eliminates the need for a separate screen. The cabin also uses analogue-feel controls and a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls.

Ferrari Luce: The Powertrain

The Ferrari Luce uses a quad-wheel setup with each of the wheels being powered independently. While the rear motors are capable of generating a peak power output of 355 kW each, the front-mounted electric motors can generate a peak power output of 105 kW, and the combined power output is rated at 1,035 hp. The Luce supports DC fast charging of up to 350 kW, and the brand is also offering an eight-year warranty on the powertrain. The brand has also developed a special sound system, which captures real vibrations from electric motors and converts it into an acoustic signature. The Luce is powered by an 800V battery pack, and it has a claimed range of up to 530 Km, once fully charged.
