Hero MotoCorp has revealed its strategy to strengthen its position in the electric two-wheeler segment by launching three new electric scooters in 2024. Niranjan Gupta, CEO Hero MotoCorp announced this plan at the Hero World 2024 event, highlighting the objective of promoting the company's journey towards electrification.

Niranjan Gupta disclosed that in 2025, Hero MotoCorp plans to introduce electric scooters in both the mid-price and economy segments, expanding its current Vida range. Furthermore, the company aims to tap into the B2B last-mile delivery segment by introducing a new electric two-wheeler.
To cater to the increasing demand for motorcycles in the segment, Hero MotoCorp is increasing production to 10,000 units per month. The company recently launched two new motorcycle models, the Mavrick 440 and Xtreme 125R. In an effort to expand its presence in the electric vehicle market, Hero MotoCorp is actively working to make its Vida electric scooters more accessible. Gupta revealed that the availability of Vida has been extended to 100 cities, with plans to enter an additional 100 cities within the next year. In an effort to enhance customer engagement, Hero MotoCorp will also establish exclusive small stores dedicated to its Vida electric range.

Despite progress in the electric vehicle sector, Hero MotoCorp's launch of electric bikes through its collaboration with Zero Motorcycles may be delayed due to the evolving Indian EV market and cost challenges. Gupta emphasised that the technology from this partnership will be crucial for future mass-market electric motorcycles. While recognizing the potential, he urged patience, noting the emerging stage of the market. Hero MotoCorp's strategy aims to cater to diverse consumer needs, ranging from performance bike enthusiasts to those seeking practical electric options for daily commuting.
