Honda CB1000 Hornet Design Patented In India: What To Expect From Upcoming Performance Bike

Honda CB1000 Hornet Design Patented: Honda unveiled the CB1000 Hornet at EICMA 2023, taking over from the CB1000R in their lineup. It wasn't clear if the bike would come to India then, however, now Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have applied for a design patent for the CB1000 Hornet, hinting that it might launch in India soon.

Honda CB1000 Hornet - Engine 

The Honda CB1000 Hornet is powered by a 999 cc, liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder engine delivering a power output of 147 bhp and 100 Nm of torque. Honda tweaked the engine for the CB1000 Hornet, it is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch. It is built on a new steel twin-spar frame, the CB1000 Hornet boasts upside-down forks in the front and a pro-link monoshock at the rear, both adjustable for preload and rebound. Braking is handled by twin 310 mm discs in the front and a single disc at the rear, with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 180/55 and 120/70 section tyres front and rear, respectively.

Honda CB1000 Hornet - Features 

The Honda CB1000 Hornet features a 5-inch TFT screen displaying vital information and supports Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity. It sports all-LED lighting with a dual LED projector headlamp setup. Honda adds throttle-by-wire, three riding modes and traction control, dubbed Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).

In addition, Honda inaugurated a new R&D centre in Bengaluru, focusing on developing motorcycles and power products. Honda's move to patent the CB1000 Hornet design in India suggests a possible entry into the Indian market, aligning with their broader strategy of expanding their electric two-wheeler lineup and investing in R&D for future advancements.
