Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched the Transalp 750 for the Indian markets with a price tag of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). HMSI will be selling the Transalp 750 in India as Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will rival other models in the segment like BMW F 850 GS, Triumph Tiger 850 Sport and Suzuki V-Strom 650XT.
Honda Transalp 750 - Engine, Performance and Hardware
Powering the Honda Transalp 750 is a liquid-cooled, 755cc, parallel-twin engine that is tuned to produce a power output of 92 bhp and 75 Nm of torque. These engine specs are the same as the Honda Transalp 750 international-spec model which isn’t the case for other Honda models that are brought to India.
This 755 cc, parallel-twin engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission along with a slip and assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. Same as the Honda Hornet 750, the Transalp 750 is built on a diamond steel frame with a USD fork and a monoshock setup. The front fork is a 43mm upside-down unit that provides 200 mm of travel while the rear mono-shock allows up to 190 mm of travel.
Total weight of the Honda Transalp 750 is 208 kg which reveals that the Transalp 750 is among the lightest multi-cylinder ADV bikes in the country. The motorcycle features tubed wire-spoke rims, with a size of 90/90-21 for the front wheel and 150/70-R18 for the rear wheel. The seat height for the international model is set at 850mm. The specific seat height for the India-spec Transalp has not been confirmed yet. There is also an option for lowering the seat height which brings the seat height down to 820 mm.
