Hyundai Creta 2025: Hyundai India is celebrating the completion of a decade of its best-performing SUV in India today. The Hyundai Creta was launched in the country back in 2015, and it has remained one of the best-selling vehicles in its segment since 2016. Here we are taking a glimpse of the Hyundai Creta’s journey in India.
Hyundai Creta Vs The Segment
The Hyundai Creta is a mid-size SUV, and it entered the Indian automotive market with a bold grille at the front, along with chiseled body lines and stylish alloy wheels. The mid-size SUV segment in the country had only 3 major players by the time the Creta was launched. However, 10 years later, the segment has around 14 major contenders, and currently it is the country’s most competitive car segment. The Creta, meanwhile, has kept shining since 2016, and currently it is the country’s best-selling SUV.

10 Years 12 Lakh Units
The Hyundai Creta has remained one of the best-performing cars in terms of sales since its introduction to the Indian automotive market. The Hyundai Creta’s annual sales have more than doubled. While the car had sold 96,926 units in 2016, the annual sales stood at 1,86,919 units in 2025. The brand has sold more than 12 lakh units of its best-performing model till now. The Creta by Hyundai now owns a 31 per cent share in the mid-size SUV segment of the country.

Hyundai Creta: Most Loved Variant
The Hyundai Creta is available in Petrol, Diesel, Turbo, and Electric powertrains in India. The brand exports made in India, the Hyundai Creta SUVs, to more than 13 countries currently, and it has exported more than 2.87 lakh units so far. Sunroof has emerged as one of the most popular features in the Indian automotive industry in the past few years. The Sunroof-powered variants of the Creta are more cherished, and they have a share of around 70 per cent in the SUVs' overall sales.
