ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance Systems) was earlier included on the specification list of some of the most expensive cars in the country, but the manufacturers have recently started including this safety feature in affordable cars as well. ADAS is an advanced technological mechanism that assists drivers and helps prevent accidents. It employs a number of sensors strategically positioned all around a vehicle to sense the surroundings while offering the driver necessary inputs.
Here are the top ADAS feature loaded cars in India:
MG Astor
The MG Astor is the most affordable vehicle on the list and comes equipped with Level 2 autonomous technology. ADAS Features on the MG Astor include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Forward Collision Prevention, Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Headlamp Control and Speed Assist System.
Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 became the first vehicle to include Level 2 ADAS safety elements, that consists of a number of features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Traffic Signal Recognition, Front Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking and Smart Pilot Assist.
Honda City eHEV
In India, the Honda City and Honda's reputation are well-respected. Honda's first powerful hybrid, the eHEV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS features like Lane Keep Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto High Beam, Collision Mitigation Braking System and Road Departure Mitigation.
Hyundai Verna
The Hyundai Verna is the country's second midsize sedan after the Honda City to offer ADAS. Hyundai Verna comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS functionality, comprising of features like Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with stop and go, Lane Following Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist.
Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier is the newest SUV in its category to receive the ADAS suite. The Level 2 ADAS features included in the the SUV are Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Door Open Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, High Beam Assist and Traffic Signal Recognition.
