First-ever Jeep Wrangler was introduced in 1986 at the Chicago Auto Show. Since its inception, Jeep has launched five generations of the iconic Wrangler, the first one being the Jeep Wrangler (YJ) that came into production 37 years ago. The YJ edition was followed by the TJ in 1996, the JK in 2006 and the JL in 2017 and the five millionth Jeep Wrangler which has recently been sold is the fifth-latest 2024 generation. This remarkable milestone has been achieved by the Jeep Wrangler in 37 years.
Jim Morrison, Senior Vice-President and Head of Jeep North America on this occasion spoke about the sales milestone achieved by the brand. "With five million Wranglers sold, the Jeep brand continues to grow fuelled by the unwavering passion of the Jeep global community. With legendary 4x4 capability, open-air-freedom and a timeless design, the Wrangler embodies the spirit and the soul of the Jeep brand," he said.
Jeep Wrangler Variants
The all-new 2024 Jeep Wrangler possesses better power, more cutting-edge technology features and is more refined. Jeep Wrangler is currently offered in Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Willys, Rubicon, new Rubicon X, High Altitude and Rubicon 392 variants.
Jeep in India
In India, Wrangler is available with the Unlimited and Rubicon variants. The Wrangler, Compass, Meridian and Grand Cherokee comprise the vehicle line-up offered by Jeep in India. India is the first nation besides North America where four Jeep vehicles are made locally and are also exported to other nations that follow the right-hand drive system.
