Kawasaki Ninja 500 vs Aprilia RS 457: Kawasaki Motor India has launched the new Ninja 500 for the Indian market. The Ninja 500 has been redesigned to closely resemble newer Kawasaki sport bikes like the ZX-6R and Ninja 7 Hybrid. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is expected to replace the Ninja 400 in the brand’s lineup of motorcycles sold in India. It has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). Once the Kawasaki Ninja 500 hits the Indian roads, it will compete with other models in the segment like Yamaha R3, Aprilia RS 457 and KTM RC 390. Therefore, let’s take a look at a comparison of the Kawasaki Ninja 500 with the Aprilia RS 457 in terms of price, features and engine specifications.

Kawasaki Ninja 500

Price - The Kawasaki Ninja 500 has been launched for the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Engine Specs - Talking about its engine specs, the Ninja 500 is equipped with a new 451 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This engine is capable of delivering a power output of 45 bhp and 42.6 Nm of torque.

Features - In terms of features, the Ninja 500 model launched in India is not the top-spec variant. Therefore, it gets standard features such as a fully-digital 5-inch LCD display with smartphone connectivity through Kawasaki’s Rideology app. It also features a slip and assist clutch. However, it does not get any advanced features such as traction control or riding modes.

Aprilia RS 457 

Price - Aprilia RS 457 is available in India at a price tag of Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and is positioned as the most affordable Aprilia offering in the country.

Engine Specs - The Aprilia RS 457 sources its power from a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that can generate a power output of 47.6 bhp and 43.5 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed transmission and a slipper clutch.

Features - In terms of features, the Aprilia RS 457 gets notable features such as engine maps, traction control, ABS, an anti-roll system, three riding modes and a five-inch TFT display.
