Kia Clavis Spotted Testing: South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia entered the Indian market in 2019 and currently sells four models in the country. These four models comprise the Seltos, the Sonet, the Carens and the Carnival. It is now being speculated that Kia India is gearing up to launch another sub-compact SUV model in the Indian market. The new Kia Clavis wil be psitioned between the Sonet and the Seltos in the manufacturer’s portfolio. There is no confirmation on when the Kia Clavis will be launched in the Indian market, however, it is anticipated that it is likely to be unveiled by the end of 2024, with a possible launch early next year.

Kia Clavis - Exterior Design
Ahead of the official launch, the Kia Clavis has been spotted testing overseas. Now, the upcoming Kia Clavis has been spotted testing in India for the first time. The test mule of the Kia Clavis was heavily camouflaged, concealing most of its design elements. However, it appears to have a boxy shape with distinctive long vertical LED Daytime Running Lamps. The SUV is estimated to be around 4.2 metres in length and will offer a 5-seater configuration. The exterior design elements of the Kia Clavis resemble the Kia EV9. The rear tail lamps are positioned vertically and it also features roof rails, although it's unclear if they are functional or purely for aesthetic purposes.

Kia Clavis - Powertrain
Talking about the powertrain, the Kia Clavis is likely to be offered with both petrol and electric powertrains. The petrol engine specifications may include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, while the diesel options could include 1.5-litre and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated units. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is expected to deliver a power output of 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. Transmission options may include a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the petrol variant, while the diesel engine could be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
