Japanese manufacturer Lexus has teased a concept of an upcoming EV that is expected to launch by 2026. Lexus’s EV concept will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show which is slated to happen next month. Lexus claims that the EV will offer a driving range of 800 km after being fully charged. 

Lexus Concept EV - Design 

As seen in the teaser images, the front fascia of the EV will feature the brand’s exclusive LED DRLs and a low-slung design inspired by the Saloon concept that was shown by Lexus in 2021. Noticeably, the car isn’t very tall and the sleek lines and the low-slung design will contribute in enhancing aerodynamics. The long wheelbase and short overhangs indicate that the EV will be a performance focused car.

Lexus Concept EV - Powertrain

It is expected that the upcoming EV will be using a new modular platform and a lithium-ion battery pack, both sourced from Toyota. This configuration aims to deliver extended driving  range of up to 800 km on a single charge.

Lexus - Future Plans 

Lexus has not revealed any specific details about the concept EV but it is being anticipated that it will be the brand’s flagship model for their new electric vehicle lineup. As Lexus aims to be all-electric by 2036, it is likely that the concept EV will feature latest Lexus technologies like an ADAS suite along with the premium interiors.

Lexus’s India Line-Up

Lexus’s current line-up of vehicles in India includes crossovers and SUVs like the NX, RX, and LX, along with the luxury MPVs like LM which is based on the Toyota Vellfire. Although the RZ all-electric SUV is not available in India, the lineup includes various plug-in hybrid options for customers.
