  1. Mumbai Police took custody of three shooters from Kota.
  2. Accused linked to Lawrence Bishnoi gang, attempted Nepal escape.
  3. Transit remand granted for further interrogation in Mumbai.

In a fresh development in the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, a Mumbai Police team left for the city in a car from Kota with three shooters arrested in connection with the firing at the actor’s car. A local court granted the Mumbai Police a 48-hour transit remand, allowing them to transport the accused to Mumbai for further interrogation.

The development comes after the Mumbai Police team, which secured custody of the three suspects on monday, decided to stay overnight in Kota despite obtaining transit remand. The team received the necessary court permission on Monday evening but chose not to travel at night.

Ramswaroop, the station house officer (SHO) of the Railway Colony Police Station, where the suspects were detained, said security arrangements had been tightened and a close watch was maintained throughout the night.

“Since the incident is very serious, security is being maintained as per the usual procedure. I was here throughout the night. The CCTV cameras are directly connected to the police headquarters,” he said.

The three suspects were apprehended by local police on Monday morning from the general coach of the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express at Kota Railway Station.

Two of them were identified as Ritik, alias Roshan, from Begusarai, Bihar, and Rehan from Sonipat, Haryana. The third accused is a juvenile. Kota city police handed them over to Mumbai Police, which formally arrested them and produced them before a magistrate. The court granted transit remand to enable the police to take them to Mumbai.

According to the police, Rehan was in contact with Anil Pandit, an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which claimed responsibility for the attack in an unverified social media post.

The police have also arrested a man named Sameer, who allegedly facilitated contact between the three shooters and Anil Pandit, a US-based operative of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

What Happened?

On Sunday evening, at least two men fired shots at Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area before fleeing on a motorcycle. The actor escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander sustained injuries.

According to Mumbai Police, five to six rounds were fired at the car.

The accused were allegedly attempting to flee India and escape to Nepal. They reportedly boarded a train from Mumbai and travelled to Surat, where they switched to a Jaipur-bound train.

The three were then supposed to travel to Delhi by bus before fleeing to Nepal. A motorcycle allegedly used by the shooters was later found abandoned in Andheri.

Mumbai Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the law pertaining to attempted murder and the Arms Act.
