Lotus Emira India Launch: As the Indian automotive market continues to bloom, carmakers from all around the world are entering it to boost their sales given the ever-increasing demands. After the entry of China's BYD and France's Citroen, British carmaker Lotus last week officially announced its India arrival with the launch of Eletre, an all-electric performance SUV. The first Lotus dealership will come up in Delhi in early 2024, with Exclusive Motors in the national capital being its retailer.

While EV enthusiasts are all geared up for Eletre, Lotus also has good news for all the ICE fans as the British sportscar brand will also launch the 2-door coupe, Emira, which will be Lotus' second car in India, slated to be launched in mid-2024. Though Emira was launched in 2021 in the international market, it will be the last Lotus car running on conventional fuel.

Lotus Emira Engine:

Lotus will bring the Emira in two engine options. One variant will be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, turbocharged engine, sourced from Mercedes AMG. The engine churns out 360 bhp of power and 430 Nm of torque and is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The second variant will be a bigger 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine, which Lotus will source from Toyota. The bigger engine, generating 400 bhp of power and 420 Nm of Torque, is paired with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic options.

The 2.0-litre engine can touch a top speed of 275 kmph and can reach 0-100 in just 4.3 seconds. On the other hand, the 3.5-litre V6 engine can reach 0-100 in 4.2 seconds on the automatic and 4.6 seconds on the manual.

Lotus Emira Features and Design:

The two-door coupe Emira will feature new LED lighting at both front and back. It will also boast a 12.3-inch digital console as well and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology as well as smartphone connectivity.

In terms of design, Emira gets its cues from Lotus' older cars including the Elise, Exige and Evora, promising agility and unfiltered driving pleasure. The Emira will also be seen with bold and sculpted lines, a low-slung bonnet and a compact profile, taking inspiration from the Evija hypercar.

Lotus Emira India Prices:

Lotus Emira is expected to cost Rs 1.6 Crore and Rs 2 crore (both ex-showroom) when launched in India and will rival the Porsche 718 Cayman and Lexus LC 500h as well as the Mercedes-AMG E63 and BMW M5. It will arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
