Mahindra Thar 5-Door Launch Timeline: Mahindra and Mahindra, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India, has been working on the 5-door variant of the Thar off-road SUV. In a recent update, Mahindra has confirmed the launch timeline for the upcoming Thar 5-door variant. Mahindra announced that the Thar 5-door SUV is set to hit Indian roads by the middle of this year. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO at Mahindra and Mahindra, stated that the five-door Thar is scheduled to be introduced in the second quarter of 2024. 

Mahindra 5-door Thar has been spotted testing several times ahead of its official launch later this year. The test mules and spy shots of the upcoming SUV have revealed some significant details about the new variant.

Mahindra 5-Door Thar - Exterior Design 

Talking about the exterior design, the Thar 5-door is anticipated to showcase new styling elements in its exterior design such as a redesigned front grille, LED fog lamps, LED headlights, and DRLs, new alloy wheels, redesigned tail lights and more color scheme options. Furthermore, there is a possibility that the 5-door Thar will be exclusively offered in a hardtop variant.

Mahindra 5-Door Thar - Interior 

On the inside, the Mahindra Thar 5-Door is expected to feature a redesigned dashboard with a dual-tone theme, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, front-row armrests, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls and circular AC vents.

Mahindra 5-Door Thar - Engine Specs 

Mahindra 5-door Thar is expected to retain the same engine configuration as the current 3-door Thar. This includes a choice between a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel engine generates 130 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque, while the turbo petrol engine delivers 152 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque.

Mahindra 5-Door Thar - Expected Price 

Post the launch of the Mahindra Thar 5-door, it will be positioned between the current-generation Thar and the Mahindra XUV700. As a result, it is fair to expect that the pricing for the new 5-door Thar will start above Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
