Mahindra, a leading automobile manufacturer in India is working on the upcoming Thar 5-Door variant. Previously, the Mahindra Thar 5-Door has been spotted testing multiple times revealing key details about the off-road SUV. The Mahindra Thar 5-Door has recently been spotted testing in Himachal Pradesh. This recent spotting has confirmed key details of the Mahindra Thar 5-Door which is anticipated to be launched in  February 2024.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door - Interior

In terms of interior, the Mahindra Thar 5-Door will get a new dashboard design with a dual-tone theme. It will also get a larger touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV will be equipped with a digital instrument cluster. Additional features include armrests for the front row, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls and circular AC vents.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door - Design 

Talking about the design of the upcoming 5-door Thar, it will feature new styling elements such as a new front grille, LED fog lamps, LED headlights and DRLs. It is also anticipated to get new alloy wheels, redesigned tail lights and updated color schemes. Furthermore, it's likely that the new 5-door Thar will be exclusively offered in a hardtop variant.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door - Engine Specs 

In terms of engine specifications of the 5-door Thar, it is likely that it will retain the same configuration as the existing 3-door Thar. The powertrain options in the 3-door variant include a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel engine delivers 130 bhp of power and 300 Nm of torque, while the turbo petrol engine is capable of generating 152 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door - Price 

Post its launch, the upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door will be positioned between the current-gen Thar and Mahindra’s popular SUV model, the XUV700. Therefore, it is fair to assume that the new 5-door Thar will be priced above Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom) with its prices going up till Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom).
