Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the largest car manufacturers in the country, has updated the colour options for the Thar and Scorpio Classic SUVs without any official announcement. The Mahindra Thar and Scorpio Classic SUVs have been introduced with a new Stealth Black exterior colour option that has replaced the previous Napoli Black, although there are hardly any visual differences between the two shades.
Mahindra Thar & Scorpio - Stealth Black Colour Option
With this addition, the Mahindra Thar now offers five exterior colour options which include the Red Rage, Deep Grey, Stealth Black, Everest White and Desert Fury. Similarly, the Scorpio Classic is now available in four colours: Galaxy Grey, Everest White, Stealth Black and Molten Red Rage. Other Mahindra SUVs, such as the Scorpio N, XUV700, XUV300, and Bolero Neo will continue to be offered with the Napoli Black exterior colour scheme option.
Mahindra Thar 5-Door
As we have reported earlier, Mahindra is gearing up to launch a five-door variant of the Thar SUV, which will be sold alongside the existing three-door model. This new variant is expected to directly compete with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which was launched in India last year. The five-door Thar is currently undergoing road tests and is likely to be launched in the second quarter of 2024.

The upcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door variant will be powered by the same powertrain as the existing Thar model. Engine options include a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with respective power outputs of 130 bhp/300 Nm of torque and 152 bhp/320 Nm of torque. After the Mahindra Thar 5-door is officially launched in the country, it is likely that it will be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). In Mahindra’s SUV lineup, it is anticipated to be positioned between the current-generation Thar and Mahindra XUV700.
